TVA Discussing Highest Power Rate Hike In Decades

We are facing a major hike in power rates coming up this fall.
T-V-A today announced rate hikes that should range between ten and 20 percent for most of us.
Officials blame a spike in coal and other power costs.
The new rates will take affect on your October bill.
TVA still must settle on the final amount, but it could be the largest rate hike we've seen in 30 years.
Just to clarify.

TVA is different from EPB.
EPB purchases their electricity from TVA so while this will cause an increase in our electricity rates, it wouldn't have anything to do with the fiberoptics.

I guess Comcast was right about the rate payers paying for the new fiber to home.

Jkresh...you are right. TVA is raising the rates, so this will reflect on your bill. This has nothing to do with the Fiber to the home.
Comcast is just scared of competition and from what I have heard from numerous people in Chattanooga, they better be.
