If you have a business or engineering degree you might have a chance at getting one of the first 50 jobs at Chattanooga's new Volkswagen Plant.

VW posted a quarter page classified in several newspapers Sunday looking for procurement professionals.  The Tennessean, Chattanooga Times Free Press, and Atlanta Journal Constitution all featured the ad.

While the posting asks for a bachelors degree, the ad says an M-B-A is desired.  You must apply online to get an invitation to an August 6th Purchasing Career Day.

The Tennessean also featured a full page ad declaring Volkswagen's venture into Tennessee.  It also features a Choo-Choo and a VW Bug, with the Bug asking how it can get somone to write a song about it (in reference to the Chattanooga Choo Choo.)

VW Has Nerve Coming To The USA AGAIN !!!!

Hello,
I hope the people of Tennessee don't put all their hopes in this new VW Production plant after what they pulled in Pennsylvania. VW opened the first foreign car assembly plant in the Unites States in New Stanton Pa in 1978, more than 30 years ago. They signed a 30 year term at that location, I was employed at that plant at the age of 20. We built quality cars for VW including the fact that our Rabbit GTI was Motor Trends 1985 car of the year, so the quality was there. We produced 1.2 million cars at the New Stanton Plant, but VW who received Millions in incentives from the state of Pennsylvania to open this facility, when the 10 year tax breaks ran out they ruined thousands of lives by foolishly closing the doors at this great facility. They couldn't care less at the thousands of people who gave it their all to produce excellent cars for almost 11 years. The economy was much better in 1988 then it is today in 2009, but they have no problem today investing a Billion Dollars, go figure, but they made no attempt to save that plant and its dedicated workers who built the first foreign cars on American Soil. They sent the Pennsylvania jobs to Mexico of all places, and never looked back but now they want to reinvent themselves in the state of Tennessee, the Government should not even allow this plant to even be opened at All !! We Produced 1.2 Million Cars from 1978 to 1988.

I hope VW fails at their new plant and I also hope that their sales which have dropped terribly when the public learned what they pulled in pa never recover ever, there was no excuse for closing this plant. If the car (The Golf ) was not working or selling, then shut the plant down for a year or so and get a car design in that plant that will work, I speak for thousands of former VW employees on what we think of their idea to open another plant in the USA. I am in the process of getting former employees to stage a protest at the New Plant including having ABC, CBS and NBC news available when this takes place. Did you think well its been 21 years no one will remember?? Trust me it aint over. I have tons of information and much more pictures for the American Public.

My dream job

I have been a Volkswagen lover since I purchased my first VW in 1972. All of my working career has been in manufacturing with employers including GM, Chrysler and a tier 1 Honda supplier. I have worked my way up to the position of General Manager of a 60 million dollar sales Honda supplier. The only way my working career could be better would be if I could work for the company that produces my favorite brand. Please tell me who to send my resume to in order to be recognized.
