
Whitwell Murder Suspect with the Swastika Tattoo Found Dead

Marion county deputies believe they have found murder suspect Michael Shirley.
But he won't be able to help them with their case.
They found his body in a creek.
Officers from all over the tri-state area had been looking for 35 year old Michael Shirley for two weeks...ever since they found the body of his girlfriend at the trailer home they shared in Whitwell.
Marion county deputies found the body of 27 year Brandi Duba...stabbed and beaten on Cheri Circle ..her two children asleep nearby.
Michael Shirley had lived there with Brandi for 6 months.
Today the search ended near where he wrecked a Jeep Cherokee on Ketner Mill Road on Novermber 4th.
Sheriff Bo Burnette tells us that Shirley's badly decomposed body was found in the creek by members of Chattanooga stars about 2 oclock this afternoon.
Burnette said they found his billfold in a pocket.
The body is en route to Nashville where positive identifiecation will be made and cause of death determined.
The sheriff said he called the water search team when no trace of Shirley had been found.
He said the body was located a short time later in Chickamauga creek near Ketner's mill.
