Some Chattanooga State students gathered today to protest the sale of their radio station.
The school sold W-A-W-L's license for 1-point-5 million dollars because it didn't have the money to convert the station to digital.
The proceeds from the sale will go towards the station's streaming web-version.
But students hope the community will step in to help save "the Wall."
Trey McKinney/Student DJ: "If you take that away... not preparing students... not radio... it's streaming... can do anything on the internet... Radio has rules... Which I like doing."
Operating for more than 26 years, W-A-W-L is the only area station regularly playing local music.
