Do you agree with Speaker Naifeh that taking guns in bars and restaurants go too far (See Speaker's Article)
Don't you wish there had
Don't you wish there had been a white trash redneck with his damn gun at Virginia Tech or Northern Illinois U or the mall in Omaha to shoot back at the bad guy? I'm sure the victims he might have saved would have loved him for it.
guns in bars and restaurants
Who obeys gun laws? Honest citizens. Who ignors gun laws? Criminals. Gun laws disarm law-abiding citizens and affect criminals only after they are caught after they have done their damage. And the extent of the damage could have been limited had there been a legally armed citizen present to stop the mayhem.
Guns in bars/restaurants
Would have been nice to see a copy of the bill so a person could make an honest decision. Bars maybe not if you are drinking, but restaurants, does this include Fast Food outlets? Remember the killings a few years ago at the MacDonalds?
I have had a concealed carry
I have had a concealed carry permit for eight years. I have never had to pull my weapon and to my knowledge no one has ever known I was carrying a firearm concealed. I have had significant firearms training due to prior employment and military service. The purpose of my carrying a weapon is personal protection. The police are unable to protect everyone, everywhere and responsible citizens have a duty to protect themselves wherever they are. It seems every few weeks you hear another horror story of someone killing people in restaurants. I see no reason for a citizen who has passed all legal requirements and testing to be restrained from carrying their firearm. If someone came in shooting at a restaurant then I will be unable to defend myself or others whereas with my firearm I and others would have at least a fighting chance. Criminals now know that they can victimize people dining in, going in or coming out of any restaurant since I will abide by the laws that they obviously have zero regard for.
a concealed carry reply
what if someone makes you mad and you are drunk, you will pull your gun and shoot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i dont care if you say you wont................
guns in bars and restaurants
concealed handgun permit owners are the best protection we can have. The police can't be everywhere and if someone came in shooting, we would have some sort of protection. As long as the permit holders were not drinking, I think it would be a good idea.
