[0]Betsy & DrewThese are always fun stories to post. For the second time in four weeks, someone from the Tennessee Valley got to "come on down" on "The Price Is Right."
Ooltewah High School teacher Betsy Gentry was in California recently for other business and decided to spend a Sunday watching "The Price Is Right" in person. She got there at 5am and finished at 3pm.
Betsy tells me she didn't hear her name called, because it was so loud in the studio. But she did see a cue card telling her she was the next contestant.
I spoke with Betsy via phone today on WDEF News 12 This Morning about the shirt she made to get host Drew Carey's attention. The shirt says "Cleveland, Tennessee Rocks," iIn honor of where Betsy lives. "I think that's the way I got on the show because you have about 10 seconds to talk to the producer and he talks to all 350 contestants before you go on and he makes the decision, and so he talked about the Cleveland Rocks and I think that's what made me get picked."

Betsy competed on a game called Take Two and made it to the showcase showdown.
