The state of Georgia is looking to land on Lookout Mountain for preservation.
The state Board of Natural Resources approved the plan today.
Officials want to link the Zahnd Natural Area with the Crockford-Pigeon Mountain Wildlife Area.
The state plans to buy more than 15-hundred acres in between.
And Walker County will buy another 275 acres on the borders.
But the deal still must receive approval from two other state agencies.
