Two Idols Coming to Town, Phil Stacey's Summer

 [0]Bucky Covington (Season 5, finished 8th)

Bucky says he got what he was looking for when he signed up for Idol.

His 8th place finish landed him a recording contract in Nashville.

Immediately after the show, he got a call from Mark Miller of Sawyer Brown who liked his style.

Miller would produce his first album, which was released last year.

It was the highest charting debut for a male country artist since since Billy Ray Cyrus's "Some Gave All," landing at Number One.

Bucky has had a busy summer, touring the country with Montgomery Gentry and on his own.

You can see him up close and personal at Lake Winnepesaukah's Jukebox Junction on Sunday, July 20th.

He's got two shows, at 3:00 & 8:00 PM.

Here is his video for the hit, A Different World.

 [0]Reuben Studdard (Season 2, winner)

The Velvet Tedd Bear is also coming to town this summer.

He will headline for the first annual Bessie Smith Heritage Festival on Saturday, August 23rd at the African American Museum.

Studdard is trying to recapture his initial success after winning Idol in 2003.

He has lost more than 70 pounds over the last couple of years, and just got married a couple of weeks ago in his native Birmingham.

Reuben is now working on a new album for release later in the year.

He'll also take on the role of Fats Waller for a national tour of the show Ain't Misbehavin' this fall.

Here is Studdard's triumphant return to American Idol this year, performing Celebrate Me Home.

 [0]Phil Stacey (Season 6, finished 6th)

This is also a busy time for Lee College grad Phil Stacey.

He's got a new album, a new single, a summer tour and an important musical debut on Sunday.

These days, Phil and family are based in Nashville, where he is supporting his debut album that came out this spring.

His current single isn't on that album.

It's called Old Glory and was released on the 4th of July.

He wrote it two years before getting on Idol, while he was still in the Navy.

On Sunday, he makes his Grand Ole Opry debut, which you can see on GAC at 8:00 PM.

Here he is performing Old Glory.

Phil is headed out west for the rest of the summer.

But you can catch him back in Cleveland this fall at the Foothills County Fair on September 27th.
