The city of Cleveland is a month away from turning on their new red light cameras.

So far, they've put up cameras at the intersections of 25th Street at Peerless Road, Keigh Street at 20th Street and Keith Street at Raider Drive.

[0]Beginning on September 15th, the city will turn them on.

For the first month, if they catch you, you'll get a warning in the mail.

But on October 15th, the tickets will be real.

They'll cost you $50.

“All too often our citizens are being critically and sometimes fatality injured by people failing to obey traffic signals. We are hoping that the cameras will send a clear message to motorists to pay attention and comply with traffic signals. According to the most recent Tennessee Highway Patrol statistics (2007), 49 accidents occurred at these three locations, most caused by drivers running electrical signals,” said Chief Snyder.

The city plans to install more cameras in the future.
