The new Chair of the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated Volkswagen Wednesday at the Chamber's Annual Meeting.
Roughly 900 people attended the event.
Incoming Chamber board chair Tom Griscom praised Chattanooga leaders for investing in downtown and Enterprise South.
Griscom challenged the community to keep up the momentum.
He commended the city for landing on the short list for two major auto makers, "We were second with Toyota, we were number 1 with Volkswagen. We ought to celebrate that 'cause you also have to figure that VW learned some things from what we went through...we learned some things from what we went through with Toyota."
The Chamber also celebrated the expansion of Unum, BlueCross BlueShield, Memorial, and Alstom.
