just one thing;

I will be looking for just one thing from either convention, AN HONEST POLITICIAN! Now, I realize that the words HONEST and POLITICIAN do not belong in the same sentence, but as they say, hope springs eternal.

whats the difference

i am 40 yrs old. i have never voted or been a political person. when i was younger i just didnt care. now that i am older, i care about issues like health care, but i feel it doesnt matter who is in office because in the overall scheme of things, the american peoples opinion really doesnt matter. in my adult life the only time the person in the white house has affected me is now. with the big w in the white house, he has destroyed america. i have never struggled as much as i have the last 4 to 8 yrs. i think we need a change but everyone knows by the time any positive things would start happening, it would be time for another election.

elections

i'm tired of hearing about the elec. our votes don't count anyway so why are we hearing so much about it.

i think that they should do away with the colleage elec. vote and let the people vote for our leaders i don't even vote in the pres. elections any more because it's a waste of the peoples time.

Fed up in GA.

I know, nobody wants to hear the truth, but;

PHILADELPHIA - A Lafayette Hill attorney filed a lawsuit in federal court Thursday challenging Sen. Barack Obama's claim to United States citizenship. The action seeks to remove the Democratic candidate from the November ballot.
To be eligible to serve as U.S. president, a person must be born in this country. According to Obama's birth certificate, which his campaign posted on its Internet site in June to quell rumors that he is foreign born, the Illinois senator was born in Hawaii on Aug. 6, 1961.
On Thursday, Philip Berg filed a temporary restraining order in federal court to bar Obama from running for president, claiming the Democratic candidate was actually born in Africa.
"We really don't believe he was born in Hawaii," Berg said. "We think he was born in Kenya."
The presidential candidate's father, Barack Obama Sr., was born and raised in a small village in Kenya, according to Obama's campaign Web site.
Berg's suit claims the senator's grandmother, brother and sister, who live in Kenya, believe they were present during Obama's birth in the African country.
Obama's mother, Ann Dunham, grew up in Kansas, and his parents met at the University of Hawaii when Dunham was a student there, according to the Obama campaign.
Eventually, Obama's father returned to Kenya, and his son grew up in Hawaii with his mother and for a few years in Indonesia after Dunham married an Indonesian man, Lolo Soetoro. Also, Obama lived with his maternal grandparents in Hawaii.
"If he was born in Hawaii, and he was adopted in Indonesia by Lolo Soetoro, (Obama) would lose his citizenship," Berg said.
The Obama campaign has a special section on its Web site, "Fight the Smears," that debunks the birth certificate story and other reports that have circulated about him during the campaign.
"It's part of a smear campaign," said an Obama campaign volunteer who identified herself as Rachel. "There are just so many lies out there."
The lawsuit claims three "independent" document forensic experts performed extensive tests on the digitally-scanned image of Obama's "Certificate of Live Birth" posted on the campaign's site and found the document to be "a forgery."
Jerome Corsi, author of the book, "The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality," has also deemed the birth certificate phony, according to The Annenberg Political Fact Check, www.FactCheck.org.
The Annenberg Political Fact Check, a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania, aims to expose deception and confusion in U.S. politics.
Recently, FactCheck.org staffers "touched, examined and photographed" the original birth certificate kept at the Obama campaign headquarters in Chicago and concluded the document is genuine.
"The evidence is clear: Barack Obama was born in the U.S.A.," FactCheck.org staffers concluded.
Sean Smith, Obama's Pennsylvania communications director, was contacted Friday about the suit but declined comment.
The civil suit filed by Berg will be reviewed by the U.S. Federal Election Commission, according to Patty Hartman, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

from a news feed

"I hope everybody knows that Obama is anti-gun. And so is Senator Joe Biden (Democrat - Delaware) his chosen V.P. Biden is in support of General and Complete Disarmament - Public Law 87-297. P.L.87-297, a (so-called) "law" isn't just for nuclear disarmament. It is for general and complete disarmament of our nation and all citizens, and giving our armed forces to the United Nations on a permanent basis! No nation ever did, nor ever can, retain its freedom and liberty once it gives up its armed forces, and armed citizenry. The United States hasn't a chance with these two guys at the helm. Biden and Obama will get along like two peas in a pod. McCain will be no different, though! He will do exactly the same. All three will be programmed, tasked, and scheduled just like the others!"

I wonder how Biden feels about Obama joining his friend, Louis Farrakhan, at the "million man march"? Louis Farrakhan, who has openly endorsed Obama, says with utter scorn on this video: "..a black man born of a white mother could lift America...." That also sums it up for Obama: "He (Obama) cherishes every cause for complaint he can discern against white folks. He is constantly distressed at being half-white. Obama says he “ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of twelve or thirteen, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.”

Obama can't stop Farrakhan from endorsing him, but if he finds Farrakhan's comments repugnant, why attend one of his functions? I guess he also knew nothing about his church giving Farrakhan a lifetime achievement award for his "greatness":

"Russert persisted, stating, "The title of one of your books, Audacity of Hope [Crown, 2006], you acknowledge you got from a sermon from Reverend Jeremiah Wright, the head of the Trinity United Church. He said that Louis Farrakhan 'epitomizes greatness,' " before asking Obama, "What do you do to assure Jewish Americans that, whether it's Farrakhan's support or the activities of Reverend Jeremiah Wright, your pastor, you are consistent with issues regarding Israel and not in any way suggesting that Farrakhan epitomizes greatness?" Trumpet Newsmagazine, a publication founded by Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ, where Obama is a parishioner and Wright was a minister, awarded Farrakhan the "Lifetime Achievement 'Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. Trumpeter Award' " in 2007. Washington Post columnist Richard Cohen reported that Trumpet said Farrakhan "truly epitomized greatness."

I wonder if the late Tim Russert was more concerned about Farrakhan's bigotry or that Obama will be "consistent with issues regarding Israel"? In any event, Obama finally denounced Farrakan and his statements. It's all just a big misunderstanding. Just like he was never in church during one of Wright's digusting tirades over a twenty year period. Obama knew nothing about it, doesn't approve of it. Poor misunderstood Barack Hussein Obama with his Harvard law degree.

Additionally, it's not like Biden holds Obama in high regard. Just last year, Biden said this in an interview with George Stephanopoulos: "You were asked, “Is he ready?” You said, “I think he can be ready, but right now I don't believe he is. The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job-training.” Biden: "I think that — I stand by the statement." Boy, in Biden's eyes, Obama, sure got "ready" in a hurry! Scratch my head, but these two don't seem to be very compatible on the Iraq war issue, either.

In case you missed it, Phil Berg, who I met and spoke with for a while at a conference in Phoenix back in February, 2007, filed a lawsuit in Federal District court last week to stop Obama from running based on citizenship requirements. Phil also brings up Obama's failure to admit on his Illinois Bar application his many aliases: Barack Hussein Obama; Barry Soetoro; Barry Obama; Barack Dunham; and Barry Dunham. Lest people think Berg is some bug-eyed Kool Aid drinker like Bill O'Reilly, this is part of his bio: Philip J. Berg, Esquire; former Deputy Attorney General of Pennsylvania; former candidate for Governor and U.S. Senate in Democratic Primaries; former Chair of the Democratic Party in Montgomery County; former member of Democratic State Committee; an attorney with offices in Montgomery County, PA"

c'mon, it's all a big joke

Watch the opening, even the deadbeat politicians who are there think it's a big joke. Let's face it, the system, as we know it, has failed miserably. When we have nothing better to choose from than the current crop of phonys it is high time for a change, and I don't mean Obama. His phony line about change is just as empty as the others.
