A Georgia park near you may soon shut down.

On Wednesday the Department of Natural Resources approved a plan to meet the Governor's mandated six percent budget cuts.

It includes closing some state parks and historic sites.

They aren't saying which ones yet.. But we have four candidates in northwest Georgia.

We have three state parks... Cloudland Canyon on Lookout Mountain.. Fort Mountain in Murray County and the Sleepy Floyd Park near Summerville.

The Chief Vann House near Chatsworth is a State Historic site.

The cuts still must be approved.
