It's an ever changing story that the Hamilton County Sheriff's department wants to get to the bottom of. Why James Bryan Miller shot and killed one man and left another wounded
early Friday morning.
Deputies think Miller shot and killed 16 year old Issac Robinson, and wounded 19 year old Michael Shadden after the two men, along with another, forcibly entered the residence at
3933 Pattentown Road in Ooltewah.
Shadden initially told police the shooting took place near
the Krispy Kreme on Brainerd Road, making it more difficult for the authorities to investigate the case. Now the focus of the investigation is on Miller, who may have acted in self-defense, but authorities say they can't help a suspect they can't find and who won't cooperate.
Hamilton County Sheriff Department PIO Dusty Stokes says that the case could be "that of protecting his residence if we were able to talk to him. Right now he has been identified as the shooter and he was positively identified as the suspect that did the firing of the weapon, there has to be charges and there has to be a legal process."
For the process to continue, the Sherrif's department has a message for James Bryan Miller
"Mr. Miller, you may be afraid of the charges. If it was justifiable, the court will see it as justifiable, but to get you to court and to be able to play this all out we have to make contact with you."
