[0] Tennessee Wildlife officers Thursday morning had to euthanize a black bear that had been spotted in Dunlap recently.
Officer Dan Hicks said they found the bear inside the city limits..and that a homeowner there had been feeding it by hand.
Hicks says the animal was lethargic and appeared to be ill.
When it became aggressive it was shot.
It's now the U-T Veterinary school in Knoxville for a necropsy.
Hicks says a good rule of thumb is a "Fed Bear Means a Dead bear".
He said it could have attacked others, even children, in the search for food.
