As expected, we had our first good soaking in a while. There is plenty of rain yet to fall.

Here is a list of the “higher” totals from yesterday through 7am this morning.

Etowah, TN:     2.61”

Blue Springs, TN:     2.26”

Ooltewah, TN:     2.16”

Blue Ridge, GA:     2.06”

Cleveland, TN:     1.93”

Red Bank, TN:     1.85”

Monteagle, TN:     1.73”

Pikeville, TN:     1.69”

Ellijay, GA:     1.50”

Altamont, TN:     1.30”

Hixson, TN:     1.22”

Ringgold, GA:     1.05”

Murphy, NC:     1.01”

Signal Mtn, TN:     .70”

Chattanooga Airport (official reading):     .38”. A surprise here.

For the rest of today, look for scat’d showers, mainly this morning. Highs in the low 80s. A pop up shower or storm this afternoon.

I look for a large area of storms to move in sometime tomorrow morning with another round of heavy rain. ANOTHER round of heavy rain possible Friday before tapering off later Friday afternoon.

An additional 2-3” of rain possible by Friday night. The National Weather Service continues to monitor the flooding possibilities. No watches or warnings yet, but some could be issued tomorrow, or as early as tonight.

Below is a look at the 5-day rain totals. Still very impressive:
