Veteran's in the Tennessee Valley will find several reasons to get out and celebrate, beyond the traditional activities. Several restaurants and businesses will be paying homage to our vets by giving them a token of appreciation for their service. Here's a list of several specials I've been asked to pass on. If you know of others, please post them as a comment to this thread:
* Dollar General offers a 10% discount for all veterans, active duty military, National Guard and Reserve, and their immediate families will receive a 10 percent discount at Dollar General with a Veterans Day coupon. It can be found in the advertising circular at stores or by asking a Dollar General sales associate for the coupon.
* Applebee's will give all veterans and active-duty military a free entrée today. It's dine-in only at lunch and dinner. Go here [1] for more information.
* Outback Steakhouse offers a free Bloomin' Onion and beverage to veterans. More details here [2].
* Show your military id at Krispy Kreme and get a free donut.
* The Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will waive the entrance fee at Point Park.
* Golden Corral's Military Appreciation dinner [3] doesn't take place until Monday, November 16th. It runs from 5:00 to 9 pm at all Golden Corral restaurants. It's a free meal for any veteran, retired or currently serving.
