Tennessee Senator Bob Corker met with Polk County residents today about the rock slide, and other issues.
Some residents wanted to know what he could do to speed up the Corridor K project.
Corker says aside from federal funding, local and state governments need to decide if it's a priority.
Corker also addressed concerns about the economy.
He wants Congress to take a step back from health care reform -- and cap and trade, to speed up the recovery.

"If we just quit fiddling for a while and let things sort of level out I think people would begin to hire but again the atmosphere, or the environment for most businesses is one that is incredibly uncertain right now. And I think that's holding people back."
Corker's Polk County visit marked a personal accomplishment of sorts.
