Dad Charged In Baby's Death Out On Bond
The Chattanooga businessman charged with leaving his 15 month old son in a hot car for several hours Tuesday posted bond today. 43 year old Robert Reid has a May 23rd court date on criminally negligent
homicide and aggravated child abuse and neglect charges.
Detectives reported Reid had left the baby in the back of his BMW outside his business, UniShippers, on Century Oaks Drive. Reid's car alarm went off several times during the day. Medics tried to revive Timothy Reid for several minutes before pronouncing him dead.
Coincidentally, Tennessee lawmakers presently considering tougher laws regarding unattended children left in vehicles and other child neglect.
