West Point, NY (Sports Network) - Army has extended the contracts of men's basketball coach Zach Spiker and women's head basketball coach Dave Magarity through the 2017-18 season.

The 2013 Patriot League Coach of the Year, Spiker just completed his fourth season at Army and coached the team to a 16-15 record, including an 8-6 mark in conference play. It marked the program's first winning season in 28 years.

"Both my family and staff are extremely humbled to have the opportunity to continue mentoring and coaching our cadet-athletes," Spiker said. "Coaching at West Point is a tremendous honor, and we are excited for the chance to be here for years to come."

Spiker is 53-67 during his tenure at Army.

Magarity was also a 2013 Patriot League Coach of the Year award after guiding the Black Knights to the conference regular-season crown. The women's team went 22-9. His all-time record at Army is 121-88 and is career mark stands at 434-423 in 30 years as both a men's and women's coach at the Division I level.

"I'm now entering my 31st year as a head coach and I could not be happier," Magarity said. "Coming off the year we had, I'm excited to have the opportunity to continue to coach at West Point. I feel we're heading in the right direction towards an NCAA Tournament berth, and I owe a lot of that to the terrific job our coaching staff has done."
