Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Butler center Andrew Smith will sit out a pair of games this week after suffering an abdominal injury during this past Saturday's game against George Washington.

Smith was struck in the abdomen during a scramble for a loose ball in the 59-56 victory over the Colonials. He continued to play, but later expressed discomfort to the Butler athletic training staff and underwent further medical treatment.

According to the school, the senior will miss Wednesday's home game against Charlotte and Saturday's contest at Fordham. He will be re-evaluated next week.

Smith is the 11th-ranked Bulldogs' second-leading scorer and rebounder, averaging 11.4 points and 5.4 rebounds in 24 games. He has started 91 of Butler's last 93 games, including both games at the 2011 Final Four.
