Recap: Ball State vs. Northern Ill

Muncie, IN (Sports Network) - Jesse Berry scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Ball State Cardinals to a 62-51 win over the Northern Illinois Huskies in a Mid-American Conference battle at Worthen Arena.

The duo of Jarrod Jones and Jauwan Scaife added 11 points apiece for Ball State (15-14, 6-10 MAC), with the former responsible for seven rebounds as well.

Abdel Nader scored 16 points to lead the way for NIU (4-25, 3-13).

The Cardinals were limited to just 36.0 percent from the floor during the opening period of play, allowing NIU to take a 32-24 lead into the break.

The tables were turned during the second half however, as the Huskies were stifled to the tune of 27.8 percent from the field, and Ball State rolled to an 11-point verdict.

The Huskies were guilty of a game-high 15 giveaways during the meeting and lost the battle on the boards by a 35-29 margin.
