Recap: Fla Atlantic vs. Troy

Boca Raton, FL (Sports Network) - Will Weathers scored six points in the final minute to push the Troy Trojans to a thrilling 83-82 victory over the Florida Atlantic Owls in Sun Belt Conference play at FAU Arena.

Weathers finished the game with 28 points and Alan Jones put in 18 for Troy (10-17, 5-11 Sun Belt) which has won consecutive games to close the regular season. Emil Jones also handed out seven assists for the Trojans.

Greg Gantt led Florida Atlantic (11-18, 7-9) with 28 points, Pablo Bertone poured in 20 and Shavar Richardson chipped in 12. Alex Tucker served up 10 assists as well for the Owls who have lost four straight.

Florida Atlantic led by as many as 19 in the first half after opening the game on a 12-0 run but Troy clawed its way back and trailed just 45-41 at the half.

The Owls led by 10, 82-72, with just over three minutes remaining but the Trojans then rattled off an 11-0 run to close the game capped by three Weathers free throws with 14 seconds remaining.

The teams were even on the boards with each team collecting 25 rebounds.
