Recap: VA Commonwealth vs. Northeastern

Richmond, VA (Sports Network) - Rob Brandenberg scored 19 points to lead the Virginia Commonwealth Rams to a 75-65 win over the Northeastern Huskies in a Colonial Athletic Association quarterfinal at Richmond Coliseum.

Treveon Graham scored 16 points for the second-seeded Rams (26-6), who will face either George Mason or Georgia State in Sunday's semifinals. Bradford Burgess provided 10 points, while D.J. Haley collected eight rebounds.

Quincy Ford and Joel Smith scored 17 points each for the seventh-seeded Huskies (14-18). Jonathan Lee added 16 points, while Quincy Ford grabbed 11 boards.

The game was tied at 26 at halftime. Northeastern, which never led, shot 47.4 percent from the floor in the first half. The Rams shot 39.3 percent from the field.

VCU got hot after halftime, shooting 51.7 percent from the floor and 6-of-11 from long range. The Rams led by 21 with 7:24 remaining.

Northeastern was hurt by 25 turnovers. The Rams got 46 points from their bench, including Brandenberg's 19.
