Recap: U-C-F vs. U-A-B

Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Keith Clanton tallied 14 points as the UCF Knights defeated the UAB Blazers 64-54 in a Conference USA quarterfinal game at FedExForum.

A.J. Rompza and Marcus Jordan scored 12 apiece for fourth-seeded UCF (22-9), who will take on top-seeded and tournament hosts Memphis in the semifinals. Isaiah Sykes chipped in 10 points for the Knight.

For fifth-seeded UAB (15-16), Ovie Soko recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Preston Purifoy added 14 points.

UCF got out to a 36-29 lead after the opening stanza behind an impressive 59.3 percent from the floor.

Though the Knights field goal percentage dipped to 36.8 percent in the second half, they never surrendered their lead.

UAB shot at woeful 29.3 percent from the floor for the game.
