Recap: Iona vs. Marist

Springfield, MA (Sports Network) - Mike Glover scored 29 points and grabbed seven rebounds as the top-seeded Iona Gaels downed the Marist Red Foxes 87-63 in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference quarterfinal game at the MassMutual Center.

Scott Machado scored 18 points and dished out eight assists for the Gaels (25-6), who will face fourth-seed Fairfield in Sunday's semifinals. Lamont Jones added 11 points and Sean Armand 10.

Chavaughn Lewis scored 25 points for the ninth-seeded Red Foxes (14-18). Isaiah Morton added 17 points. Adam Kemp grabbed nine rebounds.

Iona led just 35-33 at halftime after overcoming an early nine-point deficit.

The Gaels took command in the second half by shooting a red-hot 69 percent after the break and eventually led by 26 in the closing seconds.

Iona scored 54 points in the paint and 13 points off 12 Iona turnovers. The Gaels had a 36-28 edge on the glass.
