Recap: Tennessee St vs. Morehead State

Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Robert Covington scored 14 points and the Tennessee State Tigers clinched a spot in the title game of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament with a 59-52 win over defending champ Morehead State.

Jordan Cyphers and Patrick Miller contributed 13 points apiece for second- seeded Tennessee State (20-11), which won its first conference tournament game in four years.

The Tigers have posted their first 20-win season since 1978-79 and will play Murray State in Saturday's championship game. Tennessee State dealt the Racers their lone loss of the season last month.

Marsell Holden paced the third-seeded Eagles (18-15) with 11 points. Angelo Warner added 10 in the setback.

Morehead State was denied a fourth consecutive title game appearance. The Eagles also won this event in 2009.

Extra Points: Snyder and the Beltway radio wars

If contradiction was an Olympic sport, Chip Kelly would certainly be medal-worthy judging by his performance at the NFL's owners meeting but the Eagles coach might have to settle for silver because Daniel Snyder's critics will take the gold every time.

2015 PREVIEW NL EAST: It's the Nationals and everybody else

There isn't much after that. The Miami Marlins are loaded up for a playoff push -- likely through a wild card spot -- and the New York Mets are up-and- coming but still raw. The Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies, former powerhouses of the division, are going through rebuilds and won't contend anytime soon.
