Recap: Colorado vs. Utah

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Andre Roberson posted 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the sixth-seeded Colorado Buffaloes to a 53-41 triumph over the 11th-seeded Utah Utes in their first round matchup of the 2012 Pac-12 Conference Tournament at the Staples Center.

Carlon Brown chipped in 15 points and eight rebounds for Colorado (20-11), which will advance to take on the No. 3 seed, Oregon, on Thursday in the quarterfinal round of the tourney. Spencer Dinwiddie added 10 points to help the Buffaloes find success in their Pac-12 Tournament debut.

Jason Washburn paced Utah (6-25) with 11 points and five blocked shots. The Utes ended their first tour of the Pac-12 with losses in 11 of their last 12 games.

Colorado took a slight 25-23 lead into the intermission after it shot 36.4 percent from the floor in the opening period. The Utes trailed despite hitting 47.5 percent of their field goal attempts in the first half.

Utah cooled off after the break and managed to make only 23.8 percent of its attempts from the field in the second half. The Buffaloes created distance on the scoreboard by converting 14-of-18 at the charity stripe in the final 20 minutes.

Colorado committed only nine turnovers, but managed to force the Utes into 18 turnovers.
