Recap: San Diego vs. Pepperdine

Las Vegas, NV (Sports Network) - Johnny Dee scored a career-high 30 points to help lead the San Diego Toreros past the Pepperdine Waves 76-54 in the second round of the West Coast Conference Tournament at Orleans Arena.

Dee went 9-of-14 from the floor and 6-of-9 from three-point range for sixth- seeded San Diego (13-17). Ken Rancifer chipped in 12 points and Christopher Anderson handed out eight assists for the Toreros.

For seventh-seeded Pepperdine (10-19), Corbin Moore tallied a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Taylor Darby added 15 points and Jordan Baker put up 12 points.

San Diego got out to a 33-22 halftime lead behind the strength of 47.8 percent field goal shooting and six three-pointers.

Pepperdine actually got to within two, 35-33, with 15:53 left in the game, but the Toreros efficiency improved in the second half to 64 percent from the field as they pulled away down the stretch.

The Waves lost the turnover battle, 18-9.

San Diego will advance to play third-seeded BYU in the quarterfinal round on Friday night.
