Recap: Nevada vs. San Jose St

Las Vegas, NV (Sports Network) - Deonte Burton tallied 16 points as the Nevada Wolf Pack took care of business against the San Jose State Spartans 54-44 in the Western Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinals at Orleans Arena.

Olek Czyz and Jerry Evans, Jr. added 10 points apiece for top-seeded Nevada (26-5).

For eighth-seeded San Jose State (9-22), Will Carter led all scorers with 18 points.

Both teams shot terribly in the first half, with San Jose State making 28 percent of its field goals and Nevada shooting an even more woeful 21.7 percent from the floor, as the Spartans took a 14-13 lead into the break.

While both teams improved after the break, the Wolf Pack separated itself from the Spartans down the stretch by connecting on 59.1 percent from the field after halftime.

San Jose State managed to make just one of its 16 three-point attempts in the contest.

Nevada will face Louisiana Tech in the semifinals on Friday.
