Recap: Oral Roberts vs. Nevada

Tulsa, OK (Sports Network) - Dario Hunt and Olek Czyz each recorded double- doubles for the fourth-seeded Nevada Wolf Pack which downed the fourth-seeded Oral Roberts Golden Eagles in the first round of the National Invitational Tournament at the Mabee Center.

Hunt scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while Czyz netted 13 and also collected 10 rebounds for Nevada (27-6). Deonte Burton scored 17 points, brought in eight rebounds and handed out five assists as well for the Wolf Pack.

Five players scored in double figures for Oral Roberts (27-7) but none had more than Roderick Pearson and Dominique Morrison who each scored 13. Damen Bell-Holter, Warren Niles and Michael Craion each added 10.

Oral Roberts was just slightly better offensively in the first half connecting on 41.9 percent of it's shots from the floor while Nevada hit on only 38.7 percent. The slight edge in shooting earned the Golden Eagles a slim 30-29 halftime lead.

Nevada shot better in the second half making 48.1 percent of its shots in the frame and by rattling off a 14-4 run pulled ahead 59-52 with under five minutes to play. Oral Roberts cut that lead to four but the Wolf Pack went on a 5-0 spurt taking control of the game for good.

It wasn't much of a contest on the boards with Nevada holding a 45-29 advantage in rebounds. The Wolf Pack also outscored the Golden Eagles 18-6 on fast break points and 19-7 on second chance points.

Nevada will square off with eighth-seeded Bucknell in the second round of the NIT after the Bison got rid of top-seed Arizona in it's first round matchup.
