Recap: Toledo vs. McNeese State

Toledo, OH (Sports Network) - Dennis Curtis came off the bench to score a game-high 18 points as the Toledo Rockets took care of business against the McNeese State Cowboys 76-63 in the first round of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament at Savage Arena.

Rian Pearson scored 17 points for Toledo (19-16), while Julius Brown tallied a double-double with 15 points and 11 assists. Dominique Buckley added 11 points for the Rockets, who will await the conclusion of the first round to see who it matches up with in the second round.

For McNeese State (17-16), Desharick Guidry and Adrian Fields scored 11 points apiece, while Jeremie Mitchell and Patrick Richard added 10 points each.

Toledo shot 50 percent from the field in the opening frame, including 6-of-14 from beyond the arc, to take a 36-34 lead into halftime.

The Rockets only got hotter after the break, as they connected on an astounding 77.8 percent (14-of-18) of their field goals in the second half to pull away.

Toledo also took advantage of its chances at the foul line, connecting on 14- of-18 free-throws, while McNeese State shot just 4-of-7 from the stripe.
