Recap: Utah State vs. Idaho

Logan, UT (Sports Network) - Preston Medlin recorded a game-high 17 points as the Utah State Aggies made easy work of the Idaho Vandals 76-56 in the second round of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament at Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

Kyisean Reed scored 15 points for Utah State (19-15), while Brockeith Pane dished out 11 assists.

For Idaho (19-14), Kyle Barone and Landon Tatum scored nine points apiece.

Utah State took early control of the game by hitting 51.9 percent from the floor in the first half, while Idaho shot a dismal 6-of-22 from the field in the opening frame. The Aggies took a commanding 39-16 lead into the break.

The Vandals improved their shooting to 51.9 percent after halftime, but they still never got to within 18 points of the lead in the second half.

Utah State turned the ball over just 11 times on the game, while Idaho coughed it up on 18 occasions.

The Aggies will await the conclusion of the second round to see who it matches up with in the quarterfinals, as the CIT reseeds after every round.
