Recap: Fairfield vs. Robert Morris

Fairfield, CT (Sports Network) - Maurice Barrow poured in 19 points to lead the Fairfield Stags to a 67-61 win over the Robert Morris Colonials in the quarterfinal round of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament at Alumni Hall.

Rakim Sanders tallied a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds for Fairfield (22-14), while Colin Nickerson also scored 14 points.

For Robert Morris (26-11), Mike McFadden paced all scorers with 20 points. Velton Jones added 12 points and five assists for the Colonials.

With the help of a 13-1 run and 51.7 percent field goal shooting in the first half, Fairfield took a 36-25 advantage into intermission.

The Stags led by double digits for the majority of the second half, but Robert Morris was able to muster up a late rally and it got to within a basket, 57-55, with 1:11 left in the game. The Colonials would get no closer however, as Fairfield extended its lead to four on the next possession and it drained six free-throws down the stretch to seal the win.

Robert Morris lost despite dominating on the boards, 43-33.

Fairfield has advanced to the CIT semifinals where it will face off against Mercer.
