Recap: Utah State vs. Oakland

Logan, UT (Sports Network) - Preston Medlin scored a game-high 26 points to lead the Utah State Aggies to a 105-81 decision over the Oakland Golden Grizzlies in the semifinal round of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason tournament at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

Brockeith Pane contributed a double-double of 20 points and 10 assists for Utah State (21-15) while Morgan Grim had 18 points and 10 rebounds. Danny Berger added 17 points for the Aggies, who will face Mercer in the championship game on Wednesday.

Reggie Hamilton poured in 23 points to lead Oakland (20-16), while Travis Bader scored 22 points. Ryan Bass scored 12 points, Drew Valentine added 10 points, and Corey Petros grabbed 10 boards for the Golden Grizzlies.

The Aggies knocked down 9-of-11 from beyond the arc in the opening period and shot 70.6 percent from the floor to take a 60-43 lead into the intermission.

Oakland could not manage to come back after the break as it made only 27.5 percent of its field goal attempts in the second half. Utah State converted 16- of-21 at the charity stripe over the final 20 minutes to stay in front and advance to the title game.

The Aggies held a 39-34 advantage in the rebounding battle.
