Recap: Clemson vs. Purdue

Clemson, SC (Sports Network) - Led by 22 points from D.J. Byrd, the Purdue Boilermakers downed the Clemson Tigers, 73-61, at Littlejohn Coliseum as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

For the Boilermakers (3-3), Terone Johnson added 13 points, while A.J. Hammons and Ronnie Johnson each finished with 10.

Devin Booker led the Tigers (4-2) with 18 points and eight rebounds, while K.J. McDaniels chipped in with 15 points and three blocked shots.

Purdue came out hot, connecting on 57.1 percent of its field goal attempts, including 7-of-13 from beyond the three-point arc, as they took a commanding, 42-22 lead at halftime. Clemson shot 43.5 percent from the field, but missed on all but one of its 10 three-point attempts in the first half.

After the break the Boilermakers cooled off somewhat, connecting on 42.9 percent from the field. The Tigers continued to have trouble from long distance, making only 3-of-13 three-point attempts after intermission. Purdue led by as many as 21 early in the period and cruised to the easy victory.

The Boilermakers, who suffered 14 turnovers, dominated the boards by a 41-27 margin.
