Recap: Saint Josephs vs. Yale

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Langston Galloway scored a game-high 20 points as the Saint Joseph's Hawks crushed the Yale Bulldogs, 61-35, as part of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic at Hagan Arena.

Also having strong performances for the Hawks (1-0) were Halil Kanacevic with 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Ronald Roberts recorded a double-double as well with 10 points and a game-high 12 rebounds, although he shot just 3-of-12 from the floor in the season-opening victory.

The Bulldogs (0-2) failed to have a single player score in double figures as the starting five combined to shoot only 8-of-35 from the floor, including 3- of-14 from three-point range.

Saint Joseph's opened the meeting on an 8-0 run and eventually claimed a 25-15 advantage at the break, despite shooting only 36.0 percent from the floor and a disappointing 4-of-11 at the free-throw line.

After shooting just 6-of-24 from the floor in the first half, the Bulldogs made just one more field goal in the second period as they stumbled to the 26- point setback.

Yale turned the ball over 18 times and was outscored at the charity stripe by a 16-3 margin, although the Hawks connected on just 16-of-30 at the charity stripe.
