Recap: Drexel vs. Saint Josephs

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - C.J. Aiken scored 19 points to lead the Saint Joseph's Hawks to a 63-49 win over the Drexel Dragons in non-conference action at the Daskalakis Center.

Aiken, who shot a perfect 6-of-6 from the floor, including 2-of-2 behind the 3-point line, and was 5-of-5 at the free-throw line, added eight rebounds and six blocked shots for the Hawks (7-4) as they picked up their second win in as many games. Langston Galloway accounted for 13 points and Carl Jones 11, while Halil Kanacevic made his return to the lineup after sitting out two games due to unsportsmanlike conduct versus Villanova and scored just two points on 1- of-8 shooting from the floor off the bench.

The Dragons (4-8) were paced by Damion Lee who registered a game-high 21 points on 9-of-20 shooting, while Daryl McCoy posted seven points and a game- high 12 rebounds before fouling out as the team bowed for the second time in three games.

Drexel led by as many as eight points in the first half, but the team ended up shooting only 30.8 percent from the floor in the period and failed to make a single trip to the free-throw line, allowing the Hawks to battle back and take a 23-18 advantage at the break.

In the second half Saint Joseph's, which made good on a mere 32.0 percent from the field in the opening period, responded with 50 percent accuracy and also connected on 10-of-12 at the charity stripe in order to secure the 14-point road win.

The Hawks held the hosts to just 37.3 percent shooting from the floor and 3- of-15 beyond the arc, all while outscoring Drexel at the free-throw line by a 15-2 margin.
