Recap: Miami-Florida vs. Charlotte

Coral Gables, FL (Sports Network) - Durand Scott had a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds as the Miami-Florida Hurricanes routed the Charlotte 49ers, 77-46, in a non-conference bout at BankUnited Center.

Scott also handed out four assists while Kenny Kadji netted a team-high 17 points for Miami (6-1) which has won five straight. Trey McKinney Jones chipped in 10 points as well.

Chris Braswell had 13 points and six rebounds off the bench and Willie Clayton contributed 11 points and six rebounds for Charlotte (9-1) which suffered its first loss of the season.

Miami led 33-22 at intermission after shooting 48.1 percent in the first half including a 5-of-10 effort from 3-point range. Charlotte shot just 32.1 percent in the first half and hit just a single shot from beyond the arc.

In the second half Miami continued to stretch its lead by shooting 48.3 percent from the field while outscoring the 49ers 14-1 from the free throw line.

Charlotte hit just 2-of-14 shots from beyond the arc and 4-of-11 from the charity stripe in the loss. The Hurricanes outscored Charlotte 20-6 on points off turnovers.
