Recap: Saint Louis vs. Charlotte

Saint Louis, MO (Sports Network) - Cody Ellis scored 18 points to guide the Saint Louis Billikens over the Charlotte 49ers, 76-58, in an Atlantic-10 Conference clash at Chaifetz Arena.

Ellis knocked down three 3-pointers for the Billikens (19-5, 8-2 A-10), who earned their seventh win in a row. Jordair Jett scored 16 points while Jake Barnett added 13, the latter converting 4-of-5 beyond the arc. Dwayne Evans managed 11 points and seven rebounds while being the only starter to score in double figures.

The 49ers (18-7, 6-5) were led by Pierria Henry who scored 15 points but had five turnovers. Willie Clayton added 14 points and eight rebounds as Charlotte suffered a third loss in the last four games.

Although the 49ers shot 50.0 percent from the field in the first half, the Billikens knocked down five 3-pointers as they took a 37-28 lead into the break.

In the second half Charlotte shot just 37.5 percent from the floor while Saint Louis made six more 3-pointers en route to the 18-point win.

The difference in the meeting came beyond the arc where Charlotte hit only 1- of-8 while the Billikens made good on 11 of their 26 attempts.
