Recap: Fordham vs. Siena

Bronx, NY (Sports Network) - Chris Gaston scored 25 points and Branden Frazier tallied 20 points and 10 assists as the Fordham Rams held off the Siena Saints, 81-75, in non-conference action at Rose Hill Gym.

Bryan Smith added 15 points for Fordham (3-9), which has won two of three after losing its previous five.

For Siena (2-10), Rob Poole had 21 points on 7-of-9 from the field, while Rakeem Brookins put up 18 points. O.D. Anosike and Evan Hymes chipped in 16 and 14, respectively.

The Saints shot an impressive 47.6 percent from the floor in the first half, but the Rams were even better, shooting a lights-out 69 percent (20-of-29) on their way to a 47-31 lead at intermission.

The script was flipped after halftime, with Siena shooting 60 percent and Fordham 45.8 percent. The Saints brought the game to within one, 63-62, with just over 10 minutes remaining, but they would get no closer as the Rams responded with six straight points and pulled away from there.

Fordham held a considerable advantage on the glass, outrebounding Siena by a 32-19 margin.
