Recap: La Salle vs. Fordham

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Sam Mills scored 21 points on 7-of-8 shooting from 3-point range to lead the La Salle Explorers to an 89-53 rout of the Fordham Rams in an Atlantic 10 tilt at Tom Gola Arena.

Ramon Galloway had 19 points and six assists and Tyreek Duren went for 16 points and eight assists as La Salle (16-6, 6-3 A-10) won its fourth game in five tries. Tyrone Garland chipped in 17 points off the bench.

Jermaine Myers and Leonard Travion netted 10 points apiece for Fordham (6-18, 2-7), which lost its fourth straight contest.

The home team jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead and shot 13-of-19 from 3-point range as they secured a 56-25 halftime advantage. La Salle assisted on 15 first-half baskets while Fordham had just five dishes in the opening period.

Just like the first half, the Explorers scored the first 10 points of the second period. They held Fordham to 32.3 percent from the field in the final 20 minutes and led by as many as 45 points.

Despite the loss, Fordham outrebounded La Salle, 37-35, but turned the ball over 14 times compared to just eight Explorers' miscues.
