Recap: Alabama vs. Dayton

Tuscaloosa, AL (Sports Network) - Kevin Dillard scored a game-high 25 points and handed out six assists as he helped guide the Dayton Flyers to an 81-76 win over the Alabama Crimson Tide in non-conference play at Coleman Coliseum.

Josh Benson added 19 points, shooting 6-of-7 from the floor, followed by Vee Sanford with 13 points for the Flyers (6-2) as they won their second straight and the fifth in six games.

The Crimson Tide (6-2) was paced by Trevor Lacey with 16 points, Levi Randolph contributed 15, Trevor Releford 13 points and Rodney Cooper 12 points to go along with seven rebounds as the team bowed for the second time in as many games.

Dayton made good on 7-of-13 shots behind the three-point line in the first half, allowing the visitors to take a 38-33 lead at the break.

In the second half the Flyers dropped to only 1-of-6 on the perimeter, but made up for it by converting 52.2 percent from the field overall and 18-of-24 at the free-throw line, en route to the five-point win.

Alabama connected on an impressive 29-of-32 at the charity stripe, but only 37.0 percent from the floor overall.
