Wright put the hosts back up with a traditional three-point play, but Devon Scott made the back end of a trip to the free throw line to tie it up at 55 with under two minutes remaining in regulation. Galloway put La Salle ahead for good by sinking a pair of free throws. Dayton had a chance in the closing seconds, but Dillard missed a 3-pointer as time expired which sealed the win for La Salle.

Despite the loss, the Flyers enjoyed a 35-21 edge in the rebounding battle. Dayton was guilty of 24 turnovers which La Salle converted into 26 points.
