Recap: George Washington vs. Hofstra

Washington, D.C. (Sports Network) - Isaiah Armwood posted a double-double as the George Washington Colonials overpowered the Hofstra Pride 80-56 in a non- conference tilt at the Charles E. Smith Center.

Armwood scored 12 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and also blocked five shots for George Washington (2-2). Lasan Kromah was the lead scorer with 15 points while Kevin Larsen added 14.

Taran Buie paced Hofstra (3-4) with 15 points and Jimmy Hall had 13 points and eight rebounds.

The Colonials connected on 54.8 percent of their shots in the first half while limiting the Pride to 26.7 percent shooting. That earned George Washington a 38-22 lead at the break.

Hofstra improved a bit in the second half (36.7 FG percentage), but was nowhere near as successful as George Washington which put in 70.8 percent of its shots in the final 20 minutes.

George Washington abused Hofstra on the interior, holding a 40-27 edge in rebounds and a 52-22 advantage on points in the paint.
