Recap: Xavier vs. La Salle

Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - Semaj Christon scored 18 points to lead the Xavier Musketeers past the La Salle Explorers, 70-63, in an Atlantic 10 bout at the Cintas Center.

Brad Redford added 13 points, Jeff Robinson chipped in 10 and Travis Taylor had 12 rebounds and was a point shy of a double-double for Xavier (11-6, 4-0 A-10). The Musketeers have won four straight.

Tyrone Garland scored 16 points off the bench and Ramon Galloway (15) and Steve Zack (13) also scored in double figures for La Salle (12-5, 2-2) which had a short two-game winning streak snapped.

Xavier got out to a 35-27 lead at the half by shooting an impressive 59.1 percent from the floor while La Salle hit on 47.8 percent of its shots in the period.

The Musketeers kept up the hot shooting by nailing 56.5 percent of their field goal attempts in the second half to pull out the win.

Xavier outscored La Salle 40-30 on points in the paint and blocked nine shots.
