Recap: Saint Louis vs. SIU Edwardsville

St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - Mike McCall, Jr. scored a game-high 16 points as the Saint Louis Billikens made easy work of the SIU Edwardsville Cougars, 68-41, in non-conference action at Chaifetz Arena.

McCall, Jr. shot 7-of-12 from the field for Saint Louis (9-3), which has won six consecutive games. Dwayne Evans had 14 points for the Billikens, while Cory Remekun ripped down 10 rebounds.

Jerome Jones scored 15 points and Kris Davis netted 12 points for SIUE (4-6), but the rest of the team combined for just 14 points. The Cougars, who had won their previous two games, shot just 31.9 percent from the field.

Saint Louis opened up a comfortable 36-17 lead at intermission behind 50 percent field goal shooting in the first half.

The Billikens cruised in the second half, as SIUE never got within 19 points of the lead in the final 20 minutes.

Saint Louis created 16 turnovers and turned them into 22 points, and it outscored SIUE in the paint, 36-16.
