Recap: St Bonaventure vs. Iona

St. Bonaventure, NY (Sports Network) - Sean Armand made seven 3-pointers en route to 27 points and the Iona Gaels took down the St. Bonaventure Bonnies, 93-74, on Monday.

Lamont Jones added 23 points for the Gaels (7-6), who bounced back from a loss to Saint Joseph's on Friday. Taaj Ridley and David Laury had 13 points apiece.

Demitrius Conger ended with 26 points and eight rebounds for the Bonnies (7-5), who have lost two in a row.

With the score tied at 15-15 midway through the first half, Iona went on a 21-7 run to create some distance. Tavon Sledge capped the surge with a slam to make it 36-22 with less than 3 1/2 minutes left in the period.

St. Bonaventure trailed 42-31 less than a minute into the second half, but went on a 9-0 spurt to close the gap. Marquise Simmons' jumper cut the deficit to 42-40 with 17:09 to go.

Iona responded with a 20-7 run to put the game away. Armand made a trio of 3- pointers during the burst to make it a 62-47 contest with 11:45 to play.
