Recap: Temple vs. Rice

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Four Temple Owls scored at least 16 points as they took down the Rice Owls, 77-63, in non-conference action at the Liacouras Center.

Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson lead all scorers with 18 points and Khalif Wyatt tallied 17 points and six assists for Temple (2-0). Anthony Lee (16 points, 13 rebounds) and Scootie Randall (16 points, 12 rebounds) each recorded double- doubles.

For Rice (1-2), Tamir Jackson put up 17 points and 12 boards, but he also committed six turnovers. Julian DeBose scored 15 points and Keith Washington chipped in 12.

Rice outshot Temple from the field in the first half, 50 percent to 43.3 percent, but Temple took a 34-31 lead into intermission by attempting six more field goals than Rice.

Neither team shot greater than 40 percent after halftime, but Temple was able to pull away by connecting on 16-of-17 from the free throw line.

Temple outrebounded Rice by a 43 to 30 margin.
