Recap: Minnesota vs. Richmond

Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Rodney Williams led four players in double figures with 15 points for Minnesota as the Golden Gophers took care of the Richmond Spiders, 72-57, in non-conference action at Williams Arena.

Andre Hollins scored 14 points, Austin Hollins added 13 and Joe Coleman tallied 10 for Minnesota (4-0) which remains unbeaten on the season.

Derrick Williams led Richmond (3-1) with 16 points while Kendall Anthony put in 13 off the bench.

Minnesota connected on 12-of-22 shots from the floor in the first half while Richmond was successful on 11-o-35 field goal attempts. The Golden Gophers led 30-29 at the break.

In the second half Minnesota continued to shoot well (14-of-24) and aided by an 11-5 edge from the free throw line pulled away for the double-digit victory.

The Golden Gophers owned a 41-30 edge on the boards and blocked nine shots as a team.
