Recap: Alabama vs. Auburn

Tuscaloosa, AL (Sports Network) - Trevor Releford scored a game-high 21 points as the Alabama Crimson Tide rolled over the Auburn Tigers, 61-43, in SEC action at Coleman Coliseum.

Trevor Lacey added 12 points and three steals for Alabama (19-9, 11-3 SEC), followed by Retin Obasohan and Nick Jacobs with 10 points apiece, the latter clearing a game-high 10 rebounds as well in the team's fifth win in six tries.

The Tigers (9-19, 3-12) were led by Rob Chubb who dropped in 13 points on 6- of-11 shooting from the floor as the squad lost for the sixth straight outing and the 12th time in the last 13 contests overall.

Both teams had a hard time finding the basket in the first half, with Alabama shooting only 32.1 percent from the floor and the visitors a mere 21.4 percent. However, even with the Tigers converting just 1-of-10 behind the 3- point line in the frame they were still within seven points at the break, 23-16.

In the second half Auburn again struggled on the perimeter (1-of-5), allowing the Tide to cruise to the comfortable 18-point home win.

Alabama, which shot only 5-of-24 beyond the arc, won the rebounding battle, 41-31, and forced 15 turnovers on the night.
